Two separate events focus the spotlight on solar this week. First, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is highlighting clean energy grants distributed across the state including a $46,875 award to Wampler’s Sausage in Lenoir City. The company will be hosting a press event to highlight the project as well as other East Tennessee installations at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. For more info see http://gosolar.ning.com.
Also on tap, the Knoxville Solar Tour and Fair to be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The fair part of the event, with booths and solar workshops, will be held at the Krutch Park Extension. Participants can also take self-guided tour of local solar installations—limited transportation will be offered to some of the solar sites from Krutch Park. See Knoxville’s Solar City website for more details. Also, check out the groovy map below to see the stops on the tour.
